Help Build Our Advisory Committee

Massachusetts Farm to School (MFTS) is currently seeking new members to join our Advisory Committee. We are looking for people who are excited by our mission to strengthen local farms and fisheries and promote healthy communities by increasing local food purchasing and education at schools.

MFTS currently has an Advisory Committee consisting of 10 individuals, three of whom have terms expiring at the end of 2026. We have a goal of recruiting 3-5 new members by spring of 2026 to provide greater strategic support to the organization. As we grow the Advisory Committee we seek to bring new skills and perspectives including a commitment to advancing racial equity and social justice in the organization and throughout our network. MFTS operates under the 501c3 fiscal sponsorship of TSNE which has its own Board of Directors. The MFTS Advisory Committee members are focused on providing strategic guidance rather than holding legal or fiduciary responsibility for the organization.

We are looking for new members who:

• Have a commitment to Mass. Farm to School’s mission, vision, and values
• Represent different regions of the state, including urban and rural areas
• Represent the diversity of our communities, including race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation
• Have an interest in connecting with other farm and sea to school leaders to shape the movement
• Are knowledgeable in at least one of the following areas: fundraising, strategic planning, policy, and/or community engagement
• Have experience with one or more of the sectors with which MFTS engages (i.e. agriculture, education, public health, economic development)

Massachusetts Advisory Committee members provide strategic guidance and contribute to decisions that shape the organization. Please see the Advisory Committee Member Roles and Responsibilities for more information about specific member roles.

Applicants will submit a brief application form and selected applicants will be contacted to schedule a follow up conversation. To apply, please complete this application form. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. We encourage you to send in your application no later than March 31st, as we seek to welcome new members in the late spring of 2026.
