Exciting Opportunity for Educators

Join the 2025-2026 Food System Civic Engagement Project!

Massachusetts Farm to School is excited to announce the launch of the 2025-2026 Food System Civic Engagement Project—an inspiring, project based initiative that empowers secondary students (grades 7-12), educators, and community partners to become changemakers in their local food systems.

This yearlong journey invites a select cohort to take a deep dive into how food connects to civic engagement, sustainability, and social justice. Through student-led, community-rooted projects, teams will uncover real-world issues, spark meaningful conversations, and take action.

Participating educators will have the opportunity to:

  • Support students to design and lead a civics project that tackles real challenges in your community
  • Access resources, research tools, and individualized support from September to May
  • Build connections with peers and mentors across the state
  • Support and celebrate youth in developing presentations of their food system civics projects at one or more public events

Educators will participate in one monthly cohort meeting, and receive individualized support for their learning community in the form of networking opportunities, community research connections, resources for content and methods.

Stipends and PDPs are available. Learn more and apply today!

Applications due June 9.
