Harvest of the Month for Educators

Harvest of the Month For Educators

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is now open!

We have expanded our Harvest of the Month program and developed an Educator-Specific program for teachers! Read on to learn more about our program.

Elementary Educators

Our Harvest of the Month: For Educators program, designed specifically for the elementary classroom, is a new program for K-6 students to learn about local farming, healthy eating, and to celebrate local foods and farms, by highlighting a different locally grown crop each month (crop calendar). We hope you will share this opportunity with the teachers at your school. Upon registration* teachers will receive materials (printed materials are limited!) to share with their students (posters & trading cards), a monthly email newsletter with curriculum linked to Massachusetts standards, activity extensions for the classroom & home, reading suggestions, and more.  Read more here.

Secondary Educators

The goal of this program is to include older grades in our farm to school and Harvest of the Month offerings by providing interdisciplinary curriculum aligned to standards, workshops focused on the needs of secondary educators and students, and age appropriate material for grades 7-12. Educators who sign up will receive a monthly eBlast that explores the HOTM crops, includes downloadable curriculum, current events, book suggestions, and opportunities for professional growth. The secondary material will have a theme based approach. The monthly eBlast will include at least 3 lessons (Humanities & STEM & Garden) Read more here
