Grilled Cheese and Pear Sandwich

Serving: 1 sandwich (Yield: 100 servings)

Ingredients

  • 4.5 lbs of unsalted butter
  • 200 slices of whole wheat or rye bread
  • 4 cups of whole grain mustard
  • 7 lbs of cheddar cheese
  • 25 of pears, firm and ripe

Steps

  1. Generously butter one side of each slice of bread
  2. Thinly spread mustard on the opposite sides
  3. Layer cheese slices on the mustard side of the bread slices and place pear slices on top of one side so that they’re sandwiched between slices of cheese
  4. Grill over medium high heat until toasted and golden brown on one side
  5. Turn over and grill on the other side until golden brown and cheese between slices of bread has melted
